Story

Diana wrote this one...It's about two ghosts in an old house in Virginia. It was written for her sister Betty Jo and her husband, Sherman Patrick.  The "House in Virginia" is a real place in Stephenson, Va.

Thanks to her brother Wiley keeping all the tapes that we sent him over the years, we were able to salvage  a copy as we had  lost most of our tapes years ago and unfortunately don't even have many of the songs we have written over the years.

Lyrics

There's a house in Virginia just barely standing
With ripped up wallpaper that's just barely hangin' on

It was in the late forties when the room knew the laughter
Of the people whose memories remain there long after they've gone

Now the grandfather clock ticks the time
For the ghost of two lovers who'll dance every night

They'll be literally waltzing on air
Floating like feathers, waltzing on air

They'll be literally waltzing on air
Together forever, waltzing on air
Literally waltzing on air

Once on the mantle where the bricks are now broken
Stood the pictures of families with babies, generations gone by

They all left and they scattered like the pollens of summer
Except for the photo in a gold frame of a groom with his bride

They whisper vows again and again
Within these walls they still dance without end

They'll be literally waltzing on air
Floating like feathers, waltzing on air

They'll be literally waltzing on air
Together forever, waltzing on air
Literally waltzing on air

Now the grandfather clock ticks the time
For the ghost of two lovers who'll dance every night

They'll be literally waltzing on air
Floating like feathers, waltzing on air

They'll be literally waltzing on air
Together forever, waltzing on air

Literally waltzing on air
